Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment on the job is an extremely stressful working situation that no employee should ever have to suffer. If you are suffering sexual harassment at your workplace, our experienced attorneys are here to help you determine whether you have a case and to walk you through the process, fighting on your behalf to get you the compensation and work environment that you deserve.

According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), sexual harassment is defined as “unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.” Both men and women can be victims of sexual harassment on the job, and both men and women can be perpetrators. Some behaviors that may constitute sexual harassment include:

  • Unwanted physical touch
  • Blocking free movement out of a position or situation
  • Using sexually inappropriate or insulting words, slurs or jokes
  • Sexually suggestive gestures
  • Display of inappropriate pictures or posters
  • Unwanted sexual advances
  • Use of insulting or degrading language

Sexual harassment also includes “quid pro quo” harassment – the offer of promotion or other benefits in return for sexual favors.
